Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): An elderly man from the Khanyar area of Srinagar has gone missing under mysterious circumstances in New Delhi, prompting his family to issue an emotional appeal to authorities and the public for help in tracing him. The missing person has been identified as Ghulam Qadir Burki (69), of Khanyar, Srinagar. According to family members, Burki who has been visiting Delhi for business for over five decades was last seen around 5 PM on December 2 at Bhogal Market, where he had gone shopping with his wife. Relatives said he went missing after briefly separating from his wife near an ATM. “Moments later, his phone was switched off and he never returned,” a family member told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “We searched every corner of the area, informed the police and waited for any trace, but there has been no clue so far. We are extremely worried,” the relative said. The distressed family said they have lodged a missing report with Delhi Police but alleged that the search operation has not yielded any progress. They have appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to take up the matter with Delhi authorities to ensure a focused and coordinated search. “It has been six days since our Mamu went missing. Fourteen of our family members are in Delhi; some are even hospitalized due to stress. We appeal to the J&K and Delhi administrations please help us find him,” another relative said in an emotional video appeal circulated on social media. The family has also urged people, particularly those from the Kashmiri community in Delhi, to help circulate the missing alert and share any information that could assist the search. Anyone with information has been requested to contact the family on 88994-92023, 95968-63102, or 95961-92276. The relatives said they remain hopeful that timely intervention by authorities and public support will help bring the elderly man home safely—(KNO)
